“Jean was just 20-years old in 1940 when she appeared in L.L.’s book “Hunting, Fishing and Camping.” Now 92, Jean recently found herself back at L.L.Bean on a family holiday. The family mentioned Jean’s connection to L.L.Bean to a store employee and the next thing Jean knew, she was dressed in L.L.Bean gear and reenacting her photo shoot. Jean was thrilled to share the experience with her impressed grandkids and said the moment made her feel like a movie star.

Model Home Staging

Nancy and I just Staged a new home in Upper Nyack, New York. The Realtor, Nancy, called us to do an (almost) empty model home. It is for sale by the builder who also has other houses and lots for sale on the street. It was a big job but fun to do and we love the outcome. Hope you do too!

Another Time of Loss

Hi all…I have been absent from the blog world for January. I hope you are all doing well and enjoying 2012!

Our family had to say good-bye again, this time to my mother. She passed in January, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. It is truly a horrible disease (but aren’t they all?)

I have missed her for many years now; her friendship, her laughter, her intelligence…

Remember to hug those you love!

Vintage Pudding Molds

What is a pudding mold you ask? Pudding as in cake, not pudding as in jello. I received one this year as a gift from a friend, and it so cute, I love it!

Here is a recipe you can try for Persimmon Pudding with Hard Sauce. I have made it before and it is delicious, so now I will try it in my new mold.

Martha Stewart has a few ideas for turning a vintage container like this into a gift box!

And here is a paint box as a cookie container…great ideas, as always.

Whether you use these vintage items as they are orginally intended, or find another purpose, they are always beautiful.

I wonder what it would have been like to live in White Christmas, one of the most beloved movies of all time. I adore the styles and hair, on the women and the guys. What is your favorite outfit? Mine is the black dress that Rosemary wears when she sings,

“Love You Didn’t Do Right By Me”. Nice!
