Summer is sadly coming to a close. I was looking at all the bathing suits and towels and flip flops at my back door and know that I will be putting it all away sooner than soon for another year!

…then I noticed I had a smallish collection from over the years from L.L. Bean. This cute paddle I got at the store in Freeport, Maine.

…Bean bags that hold his and hers bathing suits; one is very worn but I can’t seem to get rid of it!

…small bags that belonged to my kids when they were young which I also can’t get rid of.

L.L. Bean was a good source over the years for bags, hats, and other cool stuff. Enjoy your last swim!

Cape Cod, Massachusetts was our destination. We love the ocean, the sand, the breeze, walks, finding shells and rocks, being together…and relaxing! Here are some shots of the home we rented from friends. I love the old pieces in the house and just some of the quirky things around it. I also love New England, and the Cape screams “New England” at every turn. And it doesn’t hurt that the Pilgrims landed not too far from here…love it!

“Maine…the way life should be”. I agree. When I visit my sister or a friend, I don’t want to leave! They even welcome you when you pay your toll, how amazing is that? Here is a home from Coastal Living from a few years back.

I love this cabin; I love all the nooks and crannies, and every space is used so wisely…hooks for stuff, sleeping nooks tucked in the corner, shelves everywhere; ticking fabric, over-stuffed upholstered furniture, gently used pieces, warm wood and paint colors…all make for an inviting summer home. But you can incorporate these same things into your home and have a warm, cozy, cabin feel all year round! Jump in…the water’s cold!!

Do you need (or want) an outdoor carpet? These are amazing…

Use them anywhere…your porch, patio, with a furniture grouping… or how about on the lawn for the kiddies to play on. And they are not just for outside-try inside at an entry way. Just hose them off when they need it; how easy is that!

What’s better than dinner in the garden with friends on a summer night? Nothing; especially under a covered patio….love it, so cozy.

After this, thin crust pizza…my favorite. Thanks M & M, we had fun (and it was relatively bug-free)!
