To Dwell: to reside; to live in a given condition, as in, “to dwell in happiness”. What a beautiful word; we do not just live in our homes, we dwell there. Come with me to visit my friends in their homes in the series called “Real Women*Real Spaces”. These are regular women, but by no means ordinary! I want to capture them in the rooms they love, in the homes where they dwell in happiness…and in a style unique to each.
I had the pleasure of visiting an old friend, Elizabeth, on a recent trip to Colorado. She and her family moved from my area 16 years ago and settled in Colorado Springs. About 8 years ago, they built this beautiful home and are still in the process of adding the final touches (drapes to come soon in the Living Room). But really, is a home ever really done? Not mine, for sure. Elizabeth has a Dutch heritage, which you will see throughout the home; and she has inherited some beautiful antiques.

This is her Oma’s portrait along with her clothing; this is a really special addition to the home, isn’t it?

Thank you, Elizabeth, for the visit, the tour and the delicious dinner!
I can’t leave Colorado without showing you at least one picture of the mountains with the Aspen trees in all their Fall glory!
