Every year the Woman’s group at my church hosts a Spring Brunch. We do something very unique by having hostesses for each table which they set with their own place settings from home. So out comes the heirloom china, crystal and table linens; it turns out so beautifully! Then we enjoy the wonderful food along with singing, hearing a speaker teach from the Bible, and just visiting. Here are some of the place settings.
This last table is mine. I did not use the fine china this year but my grandmother did give me this set. She got it at the Grand Union, piece by piece, in 1975; it was to commemorate America’s Bi-Centennial coming in 1976. Each piece has a different scene from American History. My mother displayed it in her dinning room the entire Bi-Centennial year, and then it was given to me when I got married in 1978. I treasure the set as you can imagine. I have even been able to add to it through my shopping in Thrift Stores.
